Doherty film maker discovered dead
A 27-year-old member of the Goldsmith family has been found dead after a suspected drugs overdose.
Robyn Whitehead, granddaughter of the late Teddy Goldsmith, founder of The Ecologist magazine, was found in a flat in Hackney, east London on Sunday night.
Drug paraphernalia was reportedly found at the flat, which is said to be rented by a friend of Pete Doherty. Miss Whitehead moved in the same circles as Doherty, and recently made a documentary about the troubled singer called The Road to Albion.
Her mother is Dido Whitehead and her father is 1960s film maker Peter Whitehead.
In a statement, her parents said: "Robyn had an exceptional capacity for compassion and for love both to her family and close friends and to all those whom she touched. This was reflected in the depths and passion of her art. To lose her so young and so far before her life's work was done is heartbreaking."
Miss Whitehead's death came as Doherty was once again back in court on drug charges on Wednesday. The 30-year-old Babyshambles singer escaped with a £750 fine with £85 costs despite "stupidly" walking into a court with 13 wraps of heroin in his pocket.
