Daniel Craig casts in "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" remake

James Bond star Daniel Craig has landed one of the leading roles in the screen adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
Daniel Craig has signed on to star as journalist Mikael Blomkvist in the English-language remake of the thriller series from late Swedish author Stieg Larsson, Distributor Sony Pictures confirmed.
In the book Craig's character Blomkvist teams up with deeply tormented genius Lisbeth Salander who is disturbed by her troubled childhood.
As the pair delve into the mystery of a missing girl, her disappearance leads them to a string of decades-old murders.
The role of Lisbeth has not yet been cast. Directed by David Fincher, the film is due in cinemas next year.
